"My horses are kept as naturally as possible and so go barefoot. All they will be requiring is a trim. Please let me know how often I should be returning for further care, taking into consideration the strength and hardiness of each of their feet."

Anheuser has white hooves and so they are much weaker than a dark hoof. She dosen't have to be shod and I myself do not shoe some of my horses [depending on their performance] but her hooves should be oiled daily and dollarmite should also be given to make the hooves more solid. Be sure to get the hoof oil right up under the crest of her hoof and an two eggcups of dollarmite a day. She stood paciently and allowed me to trim her.
Scallywag's hooves are ok since they are not white and so will be much firmer and do not need special care. But when i picked out his hoofs i realised he has a fair ammount of thrush in his two front hooves. You need to buy some aneceptic to destroy the bacteria and also his hooves should be picked reqularly. Try to avoid wet, muddy spots as this can caouse the thrush to increase. Here have this, you must pour it on the frog of his hoof, beside his frog and anywhere else you can see the thrush, do this daily and avoid getting it on your/his skin. Thrush is a black gooey substance that smells aweful, it thrives in the crevases of the hoof. It is very common and does not affect the horses performance.

"Thanks for your help, I will do everything you've said for Anna and will keep an eye on the condition of her hooves to ensure they stay healthy. Oh dear, poor Scally! I will definitely keep him off wet ground and will give the medication to defeat the thrush. Thanks again!"
